Emma Gerrard, Dramatherapist, Group Facilitator and EMDR Therapist

Emma Gerrard is a dramatherapist, EMDR therapist and group facilitator at Soke Wimbledon. She provides comprehensive support for adults, both young and older, from the age of 18 years. Working with clients both individually and in a group context, Emma helps those experiencing a range of mental health issues including trauma, PTSD, anxiety and depression, psychosis, self-harm, personality disorder and anger issues.

Her methods include talking therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and group therapy. Emma is particularly known for her practice with dramatherapy, a form of psychotherapy that takes a creative and experiential approach, where her clients use creative techniques to enable a deeper understanding and perspective of the issues they are experiencing. For those who find it a challenge to put their thoughts and emotions into words, this approach opens up a world of expression, connection, insight and growth.

Having gained a Diploma of Higher Education in Nursing/ Mental Health from Kingston University, Emma went on to achieve a Postgraduate Diploma in Drama Therapy from Roehampton University. At the Sesame Institute, Central School of Speech and Drama, she developed her skills in Creative Arts Clinical Supervision, and recently became an accredited EMDR Therapist through the EMDR Academy. Emma is a member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), The British Association of Dramatherapy (BADth) and the EMDR Association.
