Alan Cooke is an Adult Psychotherapist with extensive experience in the field of addiction, addictive behaviours and the triggers of addiction. Alan also works with clients experiencing a range of behavioural issues including anxiety and depression, self-harm, abuse, trauma and suicidal tendencies.
Alan supports clients one-to-one, and also works with the families of his clients providing family support, helping them to understand addiction and to be involved in the therapy process that leads to recovery.
Alan gained a Postgraduate Diploma with Merit in Addiction Psychology and Counselling. His training took place at South Bank University, The Priory and Sanctuary Lodge treatment centre.
With an approach centred on empathy, care and understanding, Alan helps his clients and their families to achieve recovery together. He believes that most addictions can be treated by looking at the root causes, which are often found in childhood, loss or trauma.
