As an experienced counsellor, Shannon supports children, adolescents and young adults aged 5-25 years. She brings extensive knowledge of therapeutic modalities and support approaches, which she adapts to her clients’ needs, finding the best solution for a successful outcome. Shannon also has expertise in collaborating with high-risk and vulnerable populations. Her experience working with over 2,300 young people and her background in education, allow Shannon to fully understand the challenges that young people face. She provides Crisis and Emotional Wellbeing Counselling and supports clients who are experiencing a spectrum of issues including trauma, suicidal ideation, anxiety, bereavement and relationship challenges.
Shannon divides her time between Ibstock Place School where, working in partnership with The Soke, she provides comprehensive onsite counselling and pastoral care, and Soke Wimbledon where she can see clients within the clinic setting.
After gaining a BA in Counselling and Applied Psychology from University of Notre Dame in Sydney, Shannon went on to achieve a Master of Counselling in Advanced Counselling Practice from University of Southern Queensland. Shannon also possesses foundation knowledge in Australian Sign Language (Auslan) and British Sign Language (BSL), which she uses to foster cultural understanding and develop effective communication.
