Professor Paul Robinson, Consultant Psychiatrist
Professor Paul Robinson is a leading Psychiatrist in the treatment of eating disorders, with over 30 years of experience.
Paul’s publications include 5 books and 12 book chapters on Control of Food Intake, Provision of Services for and Treatment of Eating Disorders, Severe and Enduring Eating Disorders, Medical Management of Severe Eating Disorders and Mentalisation-based Therapies in Eating Disorders.
Professor Robinson has chaired groups that have produced three Royal College of Psychiatrists Council Reports, 1992, 2001, 2010 (revised 2014) and contributed to two others in 2005 and 2012. He was a senior author and originator of a widely accepted guidance called MARSIPAN (Management of Really Sick Patients with Anorexia Nervosa) published in 2010 and revised in 2014. It has now undergone a major revision published on 19/5/22 and is called MEED covering both adults and young people (Medical Emergencies in Eating Disorders). Additionally, he is Editor-in-Chief of Springer book “Eating Disorders: A comprehensive international view” which has just been published.
Professor Robinson leads the only postgraduate course in the world in Eating Disorders and Clinical Nutrition.
At The Soke, he will see clients with Severe and Enduring Eating Disorders and will offer Second opinions to support a clients ongoing care and treatment.
