Dr Izel Caliskan, Clinical Psychologist

As a psychologist, Izel takes a personalised and culturally informed approach to therapy.  Her practice is tailored to resonate with the unique identity and circumstances of the young people and the parents with whom she works.  During her doctoral research at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Izel specialised in parental mental health and wellbeing, which now forms one of the main focuses of her clinical practice.

In addition to her role at The Soke, Izel is a highly specialist clinical psychologist at King’s College Hospital, and lectures on clinical skills as Module Lead at the children’s mental health charity, The Anna Freud Centre.  Until recently, she acted as Staff Psychologist with UNICEF and the United Nations.

Izel also practices in fluent Turkish.
