Ellen Hage, Child & Adolescent Therapist

Ellen Hage provides integrative counselling support for children and adolescents aged 10-18 years, as well as parent support sessions at Soke Wimbledon. Her expertise focuses on challenges that arise when navigating the transition from childhood to adulthood, such as identity struggles, family transitions, conflict within and loss of friendships, non-suicidal self-harm and managing academic and social pressures.

Ellen has worked therapeutically with young people and their families for over 15 years in a range of settings, including the NHS, state and private schools. Her wide range of experience has included being a special needs teaching assistant for children struggling with school attendance and working at Great Ormond Street Hospital supporting those with eating disorders, somatising disorders and other emotional and behavioural disorders.

She qualified as a counsellor in 2016 and went on to work in leading independent schools, including The Royal Ballet School and Surbiton High School. She is passionate about helping young people find their voice and tell their own story by providing a safe, nurturing space without judgement or set expectations.

In her practise, Ellen takes a ‘child-led and adult-contained’ approach, always keeping her client at the centre of her work and thinking holistically about their individual experience and the complexities of growing up. Her therapy framework is informed by psychoanalytic, person-centred and systemic models and influenced by attachment theory and inter-cultural work.
