Claudia Camhi-Jacard, Systemic Psychotherapist and CBT & EMDR Specialist

Claudia Camhi-Jacard is a psychologist who trained clinically as a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist, a High Intensity CBT therapist and an EMDR specialist.

At Soke Wimbledon, Claudia works individually with adults from the age of 18 years. She focuses on alleviating the symptoms of PTSD, recurrent depression, OCD, health anxiety, generalised anxiety, phobias and panic. These can emerge from a range of past and more recent unprocessed traumatic experiences, connected with attachment problems, abandonment and loss, illness and medical trauma amongst others. For this purpose, Claudia uses primarily EMDR and Trauma-Focused CBT.

She has over twenty-five years of clinical experience in the UK and in South America, covering frontline and inpatient services, both in the NHS and the private sector.

Claudia is an accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and EMDR UK. Having gained a BSc in Psychology from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Claudia pursued further studies including a Postgraduate Diploma in High Intensity CBT from University of Surrey and a certificate in EMDR Therapy provided by AR Richman EMDR training.

In her practice, Claudia provides interventions adapted to the needs of her clients and the problems that they are presenting. She encourages her clients to set goals from the outset that can be intermittently reviewed, with the aim of instilling the sense of direction and control of their own therapy. She also advocates for clients working further on their development outside of the therapy room. Typically, therapy lasts between 12 to 16 sessions.

Claudia also practices in fluent Spanish, as well as English.
